There is an awesome interior designer in the Tampa Bay area Jay Rosenburg who has a post that I wanted to share concerning new home trends if you are curious about making some changes/updates to your home..
TRENDS MAKING THEIR EXIT: 👋🏼
1. Barn doors. “Rustic farmhouse” is on the way out. Barn doors are quickly becoming a dated fad. A “modern farmhouse” vibe with clean lines and simple finishes is still popular.🚪
2. Shiplap. Sorry Joanna Gaines! Your idea was so popular that way too many people copied you, and now it’s over-played. 👋
3. Vinyl lettering on doors and walls. Your crafty Cricut creation may have been perfect for your family, but buyers want you to take it down. Luckily these are easily removed with little effort! 🧚🏻♀️
TRENDS TO FOLLOW! 😍😍😍
1. Free-standing tubs. If you’re thinking of doing a bathroom update, consider one of these! They’re modern, fun and extremely attractive to buyers. 🛀
2. Amazing outdoor living space. Thanks to the “new normal” of life, at-home conveniences have become a priority. Things like outdoor kitchens and fireplaces - and even pools (which were once considered risky!) are now HIGH on the wish list for buyers. 🏊🏻
3. Painted cabinets. Whether you choose white, black, navy or even something bold like lime green - buyers prefer to see cabinets painted vs wood-stained.👏🏽
4. Lighter hardwood floors. Today’s buyer is looking for bright space with lots of natural light. Lighter wood (or the increasingly popular LVP flooring) helps to brighten the environment and as a bonus, tends to be more forgiving and shows less scratches than darker floors. 🐾
