Halloween and homes go together like potted outdoor plants and enhanced curb appeal. If you’re wondering what to do to make your house utterly spooktacular this Halloween, these unexpected decorating ideas are sure to wow (or boo?):

1. Add eyeballs to your home decor.

This idea is easy (and definitely unexpected). Buy a bag of plastic eyeballs and go to town! Have some flowers in a beautiful vase? Add an eyeball to the middle of each flower. Have a beautiful bowl of potpourri in your bathroom? Eyeball.

2. Make mason jar faux candles.

For this project, you’ll need a few empty and clean mason jars, battery-operated faux candlesticks and Halloween-themed black stencil stickers (you can buy them at any art store). Place the stickers however you’d like to arrange them on the jar (this could be a fun activity to do with kids), insert the faux-candle, dim the lights and there you go!

3. Go glam with your pumpkins.

Sure, carving pumpkins can be fun, (albeit a little messy) but if you’re not crazy about carving, you might consider going a different route. Again, while you’re at the art supplies store, purchase a package of flatback acrylic rhinestones and jewels, plus some tacky glue. Once you glue those jewels on your pumpkins, they’ll literally shine. Can you imagine how pretty that would look on your front yard or patio?

4. Decorate with bloody candles.

All you need to tackle this project is a few thick candles in white (or any light color) and red. Place the light-colored candles on wax paper and light the red candles, carefully allowing the wax to drip like eerie blood down the sides of them.

5. Showcase a skeleton.

All you will need is a full body skeleton from the local Halloween store I actually bought mine at Big Lots.  Now put your skeleton/'s all around the house... I have Frank out back currently with his hand stuck in our palm tree next to the pool.. He is just hanging around.  You can showcase them anywhere! In a tree, sitting on a chair in the Livingroom, when you make your bed lay him on top propped up on the pillow!  Use your imagination it's a lot of fun and adds so much Halloween spookiness.
